Sickly since hatching, Casus suffered through most of his life battling an illness with no name. The strain it put on his family had been great and led to a far from amicable relationship with his elder brother, Korren. The exact details are unknown; plenty have reason to believe something truly traumatic transpired between the two. When he was old enough and strong enough, Casus left his original clan and never looked back. Though he spent some time traveling the world for his writing it soon became abundantly clear that the frigid air of his homelands was what would be best for his health.

Casus was not incredibly pressed about needing to return to the Southern Icefields, but did refuse to go back to his original clan and family. Instead he found the growing Acreron clan and made quick, diplomatic arrangements to join its ranks. His wit and knowledge was well appreciated. Especially his ability to understand the native tongue of Coatls-- a skill that has gotten him the nickname 'Snake Charmer' by those who enjoy getting on the Skydancer's nerves.

Although a known loner, Casus has had what he considers the unfortunate luck of gaining the camaraderie of a few of his clanmates. Most notable of these are Ina, Parisa, and Philo. Ina and Parisa were both attracted to Casus for his worldliness as they put it, greatly interested to hear of his experiences as a journalist and interviewer. Casus has grown more accustomed to their company and may even reluctantly admit that he enjoys them. Philo on the other hand, perplexes Casus beyond words. The usually flippant Imperial seems to be intent on getting under his skin... Gods only knows why.
