While Glide is this man's given name, upon joining Bacchus' clan, he was given the name Hototo which means-- warrior spirit who sings.

This fits Hototo well considering that before he came to Crystal Veins, he was a stealth hunter in the ice-covered deserts down south. He blanketed himself in white pelts and snow to cover up his contrasting colors. Hototo, ironically, is a relatively silent dragon and only speaks when spoken to. Through learning to hunt, he learned that making unnecessary noises meant losing the chance to feed his family. This habit ingrained itself into his current daily life.

Unfortunately, the long hours, days even, in the snow has permanently altered the coloring of his arms and legs, making them a much darker color than his natural skin tone. He is plagued with perpetual frostbite, kept under control by herbs and ointments given to him from his old clan healer.

Hototo asked to be given the role of hunter once again seeing as it's all he knew from home. Bacchus refused, not to be spiteful but to ensure that this truly goodhearted dragon knows the more kind side to clan life. He carved from stone a pan flute and a hand harp for the Skydancer to learn to play. In the beginning, it was painful on his frigid fingers but soon, he learned that creating music his friends took joy in, made the discomfort fade away.
