Lightning Wielder







Freedom was coming to an end.

Arashi lifted her head to gaze once more into the endless clouds, feeling the rain slide down her cheeks like the tears she could not cry. The sky always wept when her death approached, as if it sensed that, while her hear still beat, and her limbs still thrashed, no life was left within her body.
Freedom was coming to an end, and Arashi did not wish to acknowledge her coming death.

The clouds parted, and the Sun's radiance fell upon her, as if to mock her failing consciousness. Her muscles tensed, jaws snapping, eyes narrowing. With the storm gone, her wild nature resurfaced. She said goodbye to herself with a last flick of her claw. Until the next storm, Life.




It wasn't long until she found a victim. A lone Coatl, emerging from a makeshift tent. He clearly did not expect any danger after the storm, so wild and strong in this part of the Shifting Expanse.
Arashi's tiny pocket of sanity watched with sadness as her body pounced and mauled the other dragon. After a few moments, there was little left to recognize as the Coatl.
On to a new victim.

Several innocent souls where released from their flesh before Arashi's body was stopped by another Wildclaw. It was another female, with flashing cyan eyes.
Not a word crossed between them. Instead, glares were exchanged, both understanding that there would be blood.
The other Wildclaw struck first.

It was not painful -hardly anything was, in Arashi's current state- but it left her skin crawling with energy, a deafening thunder in her ears. It had been a Lightning Shock.

Her body crumbled to the ground as the noise subsided. It was her body. Not some hateful husk that would attack anyone who crossed its path when the storms were gone. It was Arashi the one who flexed her claws, stretched her legs and stood. Had freedom returned to stay?




Moons rode by, and Arashi still relished in being free of the monstrosity she would become. She could now regard the cloudless skies with contentment, rather than horror.

Eternally grateful with her savior, she followed the other Wildclaw and joined her clan, where, while not entirely accepted or trusted, she finally found a purpose. She would attempt to repay the other Wildclaw's help by aiding the clan they both now belonged to.
