Vengeful | Telekinetic | Undead

The dead, some say, do not die. They are beyond fear, beyond hatred. They are beyond love or kindness or vengeance or wrath.

Those who are returned from death, however, are something else entirely.

The Returned drown in it.

For a long time, Ignacia tried to remember their old life, before they stumbled into the clan. Everyone had a story, after all; surely it wouldn't be too hard to find theirs. They had the clan archivist look into it, begged the clan seers. They even hired a detective, so desperate for even the faintest scrap of history, the slightest clue to where their cruel maker might be hiding.

Nothing.

It was as though they simply fell into existence, materialising. 'The will of the deities', they were told, 'is as mysterious as the sea.' They simply glared back at their would-be comforters, watery eyes as hard and icy as they could make them. A shame the deities themselves were not so easily quelled. That would be something to see.

But it hadn't all been in vain. In the midst of their searching, all that anguish and disappointment, they did discover one thing: magic, it seemed, seeped from their bones. It was there at the tips of their claws, just waiting, for the day all their rage and fury and hatred for the being that willed them back and abandoned them, and then finally, finally, it had spilled over.

Ignacia discovered, with some practice, that they could move objects with their mind. Not much, at first. Nothing big.

But they smiled all the same, cold and icier than the Sea had ever been.

They were no closer to finding their maker, perhaps, but now, whenever fate brought them together, Ignacia would be ready. No words, no pleas, no desperate spells could save the Necromancer now.

Ignacia would catch them, someday.
