Kvasir rarely says a word; his mood can best be read by listening to the way he breathes. Enthusiasm and fear labour his breaths, anger and excitement harshen them, anxiety and joy quicken them. Of course, with the contrasting meanings, one must look to his body language for further confirmation- he is antsy when nervous or thrilled, aggressive when enraged or frightened, and energetic when cheerful or passionate. When he is calm, Kvasir is unnervingly still, his breaths silent and deep.

The only time he will use actual words is when he has an enemy near death. When his foe is on its last legs, eloquent, if not morbid poetry drips from his tongue from somewhere seemingly beyond his capabilities. His savage mannerisms remain the same, but each agonizing strike is preceded by eerie stillness, pausing just long enough to finish another verse. He paces himself, making sure not to let his victim die until right after he finishes his poem. Perhaps seeing the red liquid that pervades his family's line is the trigger for this beautiful reaction.
