I never thought of myself as bad looking. Seafoam, pink, and aqua. I was a guardian. Ment to stand up for others. And that’s what I did. That’s what I’d always done. So you can imagine how appalled I was when he… When Thunder wanted to change me into a Mirror. Use arcane magic when he shunned any diversity. Only lightning. Only technology. Yet using an arcane scroll… Can you believe the nerve on that guy?

I couldn’t. I was born into the clan, I was pure thunder. Pure lightning… But. When I had that dream… Well. I remember it so clearly. I was in The Beacon of the Radiant Eye, in the Sunbeam Ruins. There she stood. The Lightweaver. I took a step back, blinking at the light radiating from her. It was so, well. Bright... To bright. I had to look away for a second until my eyes quickly adjusted. I remember, I recall those words perfectly. Her voice smooth and soft. Light and melodic like sunshine turned to silk.

“Hello, StarShock...” She said, so.. So elegant. And she dipped her head to me. To me. I blinked before dipping my head back, looking up at her. “I… I came to speak to you.” She spoke. “About what I’m sure you’ve been thinking of. I came to speak to you about taking hold. Over throwing inequality and prejudice.” She smiled, as I felt a burn, like the sting of tears, in my eyes.

I woke with a start, padding over a small puddle in the den for non-Mirrors to make sure it was just a dream. Nothing more. I felt my jaw go slack. My ears pinning back against my skull as my heart beat faster. my eyes. Not blue. Yellow. If Thunder saw-- if ANYONE saw this I’d be changed in an instant. I’d be exalted. I’d be forced to leave. Sold off like fodder.

 		It was in that moment I had decided. I decided that I, and I alone, would stand up. Would say ‘Enough!’ and mean it. I alone would fight. I would pray for others to join in the fight, but the chance any would come to my aid were slim. Everyone feared Thunder. But when I padded out of my nest and flew into the air I shouted for all to hear, wings flared and my surgestream coat on.

“My fellow clanmates!” I screamed. “If you believe in letting dragons be who they want to be. If you believe in not changing who you are, rise up! If you think we should be free and diverse, rise up! Rise up, rise up, rise up! Do not throw away your shot!”

I remember Thunder coming up and after me. I remember the scream, the angered screech and a scratch to my underbelly. My coat working hard to keep the wound from bleeding too much. I remember death. I remember the pain and agony. I remember falling and seeing thunder being taken down. I recall smiling in my last moments.

But now… Now here I am. Awake, Sitting up in the leader’s den. My light, near alabaster eyes opening. Looking around. I was… Alive? I am, alive. What-- how? Suddenly, i felt a Painful shock on the inside. i looked down at my coat, wires broken and tangled, a few jammed into my wound. i felt another, painful shock. the coat is sending electrical currents into my body... its keeping me alive! I am a leader now. I am StarShock. Leader of this clan.
