Large and muscular, Miruvor inherited his father’s raw physical strength. However, unlike the brutish Gourgeist (who was chased out of the clan by pack leader Thorne shortly after Miruvor was hatched), he’s cool-headed, patient, and pleasant in a somewhat reserved way. He’s also profoundly intellectual, with a deep, wide-ranging intelligence. He’s a strategic thinker, in contrast to his mother’s keen tactical cunning; he likes to consider things at length, investigating and exploring every possibility. Unusual among the mirrors of the pack, he not only reads fluently but willingly engages with difficult academic works in pursuit of knowledge. This isn’t something that he flaunts about, however, especially in front of the other members of the mirror pack, as he knows that they wouldn’t understand. To the rest of the pack, he’s the calm, strong hunter, the anchor runner in the chase, the one who keeps order with a minimum of violence, relying instead on his rock-steady presence and a low-key unself-conscious charisma. Thorne is justifiably proud of him, and although nothing has been said outright, it seems likely that he may take over the pack someday, if and when she ever resigns her leadership. Even more unusual than Miruvor’s reading, though, is the use to which he puts it. He has a consuming interest in magic, and a great deal of natural talent to go with it. Although entirely self-taught, he’s probably nearly as strong a mage as he is a fighter. For a long time he kept this on the down low too, just like his scholarly bent, but when the glowing runes appeared on his skin, it became impossible to conceal. Now that his magic is at least slightly known, it’s left Thorne scratching her head in puzzlement, wondering where on Sornieth that came from. Facts – Miruvor is quietly affectionate with and supportive of his brother Nandi, as he knows that Nandi tends to get ragged on by the rest of the family. He’s reprimanded Zyr on at least one occasion for bullying him. – Although he’s easy to talk to and get along with, he tends not to reveal much about himself, whether it’s about his private studies and activities or his inner thoughts and feelings. – For a while there was some low-key flirting between him and Taiissa, but there was never anything serious there. At the moment he has no particular romantic interest. – Since his magic derives as much from academic study as from innate affinity, it sometimes falls outside the usual sphere of a Nature dragon. At present he’s focused on working with raw life energy, not channeled through the medium of growing things—something not quite fire or lightning, arcana or nature, but somewhere nebulous in between them. Fictions — Familiar He inherited his yeti brawler, Bruun, from his father (and is a more patient master than the other ever was); the baku Eluanhi he attracted and bound as part of his magical studies. The two familiars spend most of their time out in the forest, living in and guarding the rocky vale where Miruvor practices his spells.
