Daybreak
Mage of Frost

Daybreak hatched at the time her name suggests. In the frigid Southern Icefield, the colors are spectacular to see, and she resembled the sparkling first light of the sun glistening across the ice. It was a spectacle to behold to her family, with others in her clutch sharing her color. She was the first of her coloring, so she was given that name.

She grew up sliding around, playing with her siblings, but there was something that she and her Caiman familiar missed. She couldn't put it into words, there was simply a yearning. Part of it was a physical desire to travel as she grew up, but that wasn't it.

She didn't know when she found out about her powers. To some extent, she had already known they were there, she just couldn't place her finger on that desire that burned and froze her at the same time. Her parents were proud to have found a mage in their clutch, and sent her off for training. While when she finished, she was far from being a master, it still earned her the right to travel the world.

The day she left home was full of sweet hums of luck and safety, as she pulled on her gloves and hat, and moved northwards, towards the Windswept Plateau. She continued her training along the way, as the trip itself was long. She had always known that the field was enormous, but nothing spelled the size quite like traveling with only a familiar for regular company.

Especially when she had to find just the right trick to move across the floes. It ended up requiring a combination of skill and her talents, but she and her Caiman made it across in the end, greeted by a warmer breeze and soft green.

Daybreak petitioned herself and her skills as a mage at a clan with two Fae who led, though a Guardian and Coatl helped translating between the two of them. She was welcomed, and almost felt at home, with what she heard called the Cavalcade. Fifteen other Coatls made the clan their permanent home, one with the same wings as her, and a stomach as violet as the evening sky.

He played tricks, despite his claims as a diplomat, but she laughed and joined the games, using her magic as targets for him to attack in increasingly absurd ways. They shared their hatch date, and like Daybreak, he was named for the time of his hatching, Dusk. They were easy friends, even with such a superficial link between each other, it brought them closer together.
