"Why? "I encounter so many dragons and even if I can't fully comprehend the need to get along with them, there is still this longing deep inside me. "Even Clot tells me to try harder; to open up, to look others in the eyes and actually see them. But I don't understand what I'm supposed to find there! "What am I looking for? "If only someone could tell me, explain it in a way so I could casp everything! You see, even when I force myself to smile... it still seems I'm the type of person who ends up being hated...."

Poem by IOfTheStorm
When first introduced to the Clan, Cadoc was distinguished by his total lack of emotion which he often masks with a false, cheerful, yet transparent façade.
It seemed like, he conditioned himself to suppressed almost all of his emotions, so he wouldn't give any openings for manipulation. Due to this and his lack of social experience and personal initiative, Cadoc has great trouble in understanding how bonds between dragons can motivate others and tends to spend his time on his own. His social awkwardness tends to get people angry, because the young Skydancer often speaks without considering his words and their effects on other dragons. This was due to his inability to realise the difference between a rude statement and a true statement. After spending more time with the other young dragons of Clan Àidhear, Cadoc comes to appreciate bonds, particularly the bond that came to exist between Clot--a young Imperial, that too came from a plague family--and himself. He gave Cadoc the chance to break out of his emotionless shell and to open up, learning more about bonds and friendship. In doing so, the Skydancer was able to start giving genuine smiles. Wanting to experience personal bonds even more, Cadoc sets himself the goal to make as many friends as he can. However, since he is still learning and this friend Clot could not always be by his side--to act as his social conscience/guideline--Cadoc often accidentally ends up offending others with his statements. Still, the Skydancer already has come to develop a more genuine, pleasant and thoughtful personality, while also showing signs of more emotion, such as enthusiasm and occasionally nervousness. Cadoc is very observant, and is always focused on everything he does. He pays a lot of attention to detail, allowing him to quickly notice if something is not as it appears. But he still has some problems dealing with other members of the clan due to his still lacklustre understanding of emotions in general. Cadoc holds the Clot in high regard, and tries to assist his first and best friend whenever and however he can. |
