Uh-oh, looks like this shiny golden imperial wandered a little too far from his lair (229085, Farsight), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here.

Auruk set out from his home in the Zephyr Steppes and found himself in the center of Dragonhome, a place that seemed for all intents and purposes exactly the opposite of his old home. Though he had wanted to roam and see the world, Dragonhome did not feel like the place to start. It wasn't until he had spent some time with the Shatterstone Clan that he began to see the beauty in even a place so dusty and dry as Dragonhome. He took this appreciation with him for simple beauty along the rest of his travels.

On his journey, Auruk flew over the many mountains in Dragonhome and met up with a clan from the Starfall Isles. The clan seeing that he was tired decided to take him in to rest and get to know him. Auruk found that this clan had quite a bit of dark history but with the arrival of the new monarchy, it had gotten a lot better. The atmosphere was quite peaceful and welcoming of new dragons. Here he met quite a few dragons that like him had gone on journeys but had retired here to stay forever. While there, he found that this clan really enjoyed adorning their dragon with apparel and jewelery. He found that he was allowed to pick out his cloths here and while it was good, he didn't know if he should be staying here. He liked being with the rest of the clan but he also didn't enjoy staying in one place so decided to go soon. One day right after his gift of two hatchlings to the Arcanist, he got up, gave back everything he had been given to wear and left for another adventure.

There were many mysteries about the ruins of the Hewn city. Maybe there was something there that can even further his knowledge. Much to his surprise he found a clan settling in to a territory. It was a large clan of seventy plus dragons. Curious to know more about them he approached and was surprisingly welcomed. He learned that they had come from the Blacksand Annex and were here for a little change. Living there was difficult, but it made them better warriors. Or, that was their motto on it. In six months they planned to return home but for now they would make this their home. Since they had always welcomed travelers back home, they invited him to stay for as long as he wished. Grateful for the invitation he gladly accepted to stay for a little while before he was on his way again.

Even though he desired to leave the Hewn City, he couldn't help but to continue exploring the ruins. It was then that he had found this group of dragons, leaning that they had only recently transferred their home to such a place. Within his former temporary residence, he couldn;t help but ask where they had originally come from, learning that the Southern Icefields was this Clan's true home, and that they someday wished to return.
Unfortunately, realizing he wanted to get back to his own journey, he apologized for not staying longer, and set out once more to see who and where would be waiting to meet him next.

He meant to leave the Sunbeam Ruins, but he grew confused as he wandered up and down the twisting paths of the Hewn City. He thought perhaps that his view would be better from the Beacon of the Radiant Eye where he could survey the land. At the top of the viewpoint, he met a scout from a nearby clan. He invited Auruk to join him for a meal, which turned into a night, which became several days of conversation. He learned that the clan was made of a solid core of old, self-important dragons who did not take kindly to travelers with extended stays. Using the excuse of the Thundercrack Carnivale, Auruk set off. This time with hopes of seeing new locations.

Soon enough, Auruk landed in the Reedcleft Ascent. The sounds of bamboo knocking together in the breeze calmed his mind of everything that had happened recently. He decided to take a quick rest among the calming bamboo. He didn't remember his head hitting the ground as he fell asleep before it could reach it. Some time passed, a few hours maybe, and he was nudged awake by a beefy Skydancer guard. The guard was very polite and told him he had fallen asleep on Clan Spectrum territory. Auruk apologized and said he'd be on his way, but the guard ushered him inside the lair as his guest. He was given food and a nice place to stay. This clan was much more enjoyable than some he had visited prior. Looked like falling asleep did him some good for once! He joined in on festivities and enjoyed the stories told by the clan's storyteller. The few hatchlings that were in the clan listened intently to her stories. He loved his stay, but he wanted to see more of the world! He was given a parting gift from the guard who originally found him, Apollo was his name, he put the crimson aviator scarf on right away. He vowed to come back and visit if he was in the area and he flew to the skies knowing there were other clans like this out there..somewhere.

Auruk enjoyed his time with this clan, they were friendly as oh so welcoming to traveling dragons. He settled in for quite some time, but he began to feel homesick and so was off again...
Seekingswirl Clan, Capricat, 229085
He followed the path formed by gentle winds, beckoning him home. He flew over back to the Zephyr Steppes, but found naught but an empty den. Dismayed, he looked around a bit more, and found a map and words scrawled into a stone wall. His clan had moved while he was away, it seemed. Auruk copied down the map onto a piece of parchment, and took off back into the sky. The winds swirled around him as he sped up, hopeful and excited. He'd always wanted to see the Starfall Isles, and unknowingly, his clan moving had given him the perfect opportunity to do so. It didn't take long before he had reached the border between the land of Arcane and Wind. It took a bit of effort, but eventually, Auruk found his way home, and happily moved back in with them. Welcome home, Auruk.
