Every so often, the queen of the Lost Isles vanishes, only to return with hatchlings. The denizens of the isles always rejoice the newborns, considering them to have been created asexually, since anything is possible of a goddess, and the hatchlings are always the spitting image of their mother. Everyone remains none the wiser to the true nature of this process and the god that is the hatchlings' father...

Carinth, as the oldest of all of Venya's children, was the most powerful, her physical and magical strengths being inherited directly from her father. She stuck to him like glue for as long as she could before her mother brought the hatchlings away from him. She learned much from the deity, but wished to know more, and would often sneak out with her sister Lyra in order to gain his wisdom. With this arrangement came the same dissatisfaction that her father possessed with the state of the isles. what was once is and his alone was now infested with a mismatched clan of dragons that worshipped the false goddess of the islands. Her father's hatred became her own, and soon Carinth became increasingly aggressive towards her mother and other citizens of the isles until that aggression turned to violence, where she soon sought to kill everyone on the isles if it meant making her father pleased. This plan was put to a halt however and Venya was forced to sentence her own child into to exile in order to protect her people.
