Charismatic and hansome, Glow is the friendly older brother to the younger clan members. He is strategic as well as sensitive to other's feelings.
FIFTH GENERATION IMPERIAL
He began training himself to fight as soon as he knew he had to. His hatchlinghood had been rough. His parents were killed in a Beastclan raid on his former clan, but he escaped, traumatized and alone. Even as a young dragon, his life's purpose turned to learning to defend himself and the innocent dragons involved in conflicts they didn't cause. He ignored his injuries, hardly slept, and only ate when he had to- all he could do was get stronger, tougher, and better. It consumed him until he couldn't think of anything else.
Glow found himself in a thick wood, sparring with any creature that crossed his path. His mind seethed with thoughts of revenge. Caught in his mind, he didn't notice a towering golden Guardian stride up next to him.

____"Quite a temper you've got there."
____Glow jumped, whirling around and whacking Erroen in the jaw with his tail. He flared his wings out, but faltered at the dragon's calm expression.
____".... Uh... I suppose." Glow regained his confidence, his fear fading quickly. "But what do you care? I could take you down in a second."
____Erroen chuckled, his deep voice booming against the trees. "Oh, I doubt that. But you're welcome to try. However, I'm not sure all your boasting would help you in a real fight."
____Glow straightened his neck indignantly. "And why is that?"
____"Because while you're talking yourself up, there's plenty of time for your enemy to strike you down."
____Glow's wings lowered slightly. He supposed that made sense. "Can.... Can you teach me?" He asked, slightly embarrassed in his earlier actions.

Erroen took Glow back to the clearing where he and his mate, Florelane, had begun to map out a space for a clan to thrive and grow. They taught him how to be humble, how to care for himself and others, and how to train himself to be strong in more ways than physically. As the clan grew and flourished alongside the Heartwood tree, he did, too. He became the clan's head ambassador, and learned to use his strategy and empathy to bargain and debate without causing conflict. He found a second calling in training younger dragons in all ways of life: after all, strength doesn't just come from muscles.

____There she was. Glow's heart leapt in his chest as she flitted past him, alighting on a low-hanging branch of a maple tree. Her pale, crystalline scales sent little rainbows dancing across the leaves. Glow had met her soon after he had joined the clan: Ripple was the next young dragon to join the little community. At first, they hardly got along; she was stubborn and enjoyed bothering him while he studied, and he could barely tolerate her teasing. But slowly, over the course of the early months of the clan, Glow began seeing more things about her to admire than dislike. She was stubborn, true, but that lead her to persist despite any odds against her. She was sweet with the hatchlings, and never failed to make sure everyone was treated equally. He realized that somewhere along the way, his feelings toward her had stopped being negative and began to be.... warm.
____But Ripple was not interested, it seemed. He had started acting kinder toward her in an effort to get on her good side, but if anything it had made her more distant. He wasn't sure what else to do, or if he should give up and move on. But something about her made his heart sing, and as hard as he tried he couldn't shake the feeling that she was the only dragon he'd ever love this way. He felt whole when she was around, and like a piece of him was missing when she wasn't.
At the end of his wits, he fashioned her a little marigold corsage, taking instruction from Florelane to make sure it would be magically preserved.

_RIPPLE_

____He placed it in her den with a note:
'I like you a lot more than I originally planned. Maybe we could be friends. -Glow’.
As he walked away, he realized that his feelings were now out of his hands. Whatever happened, he'd have to be okay with it.
____He didn't sleep well that night, knowing that Ripple had most likely seen his note and gift, and was thinking as hard as he was. He watched the sun rise through the trees as his stomach sank, fluttering with nerves.
He'd have to see her later that day in the training grounds- she wanted to have a basic understanding of combat before moving on to other pursuits, he had learned. There was no use waiting, he figured, and set out early.
____She was there already, waiting for him. He stopped at the edge of the little clearing, the morning dew making his feet damp.
____"So, we're starting over, huh?" Ripple said, smiling a little. Glow noticed his corsage on her wrist, and felt himself blush a little.
____"I guess so." He smiled a little sheepishly.
____"Well, wanna show me some moves? I could use a warmup." She leapt into the air, readying herself for a mock battle.
He nodded, and off they went.
