Biography

Despite being born beneath the guidance of the Lightweaver, Whimbrel was always a warrior at heart. He was never meant to be a scholar, sitting around with open books and unrolled scrolls with a quill in his claws. His heart called him out to the fields of battle, to protect his clan and stick up for them.

He trained hard, beginning when he was hardly older than a hatchling, and grew quickly in skill. He was assigned as a guardian for his clan, defending their territory from rival dragon clans and from other beasts that wished to push them from their home. He was fierce and passionate, but also forgiving; he never went for the kill unless absolutely necessary. He was merciful.

One day, some of his clanmates were off to trade with an allied clan down in the Southern Icefield in the Cloudscrape Crags. Whimbrel went with them to protect his clanmates and to ensure they all got there and back safely. When they reached the Icewarden's domain, it was not long before a female Wildclaw leaped out of nowhere and attacked him. Her skills were sharp, but not good enough a match, and Whimbrel wound up the victor.

However, he felt her attack was not out of pure ferocity, but more rather...curiosity. He admired her courage and strength, and simply told her his name before leaving to catch up to his clan. He didn't think he'd see her again...but just a few days later she appeared once more, expressing her interest in his fighting and explaining how she admired his skill. After a quick chat amongst themselves, they agreed to allow her into the clan. Her name was Musha.

Whimbrel took it upon himself to over-see her training, teaching him everything that he himself had learned. Overtime, they grew very close, and eventually decided to leave their clan to go seek out their own place. However, instead, they found the Zephyr Bards, and have now become much like protectors for the many entertainers, story-tellers, and artists that make up this clan.
