Biography
The Battle Surgeon |
Cordia Cordia was born in the harsh wastes of the Southern Icefields, but his egg was found, abandoned, by a Jötunheimr dragon helping escort the Earth Ambassador, Canyon, on one of his trips around Dragonhome. Canyon adopted the small Fae after the old dragon saw those earth eyes and couldn’t give him up. It caused quite a stir when Canyon brought the Fae into Jötunheimr and have him a home, without asking Dresden. Dresden allowed Canyon to keep the Fae, on two conditions. The first was that Cordia would have to be gened properly, so he looked up to standard. The second condition was that once Cordia grew up, he would have to leave and if he wanted back he could return a year later and have to work to earn his keep as any other dragon would in Dresden’s clan. Cordia grew up hearing the old earth dragons battle stories, but the ambassador often had to go off and help with earth related tasks. Cordia was fine with this, as he enjoyed hanging out and play fighting with the other hatchlings. One day a hatchling that Cordia as playing with slipped on ice and had to be rushed to the doctor for healing. Seeing the doctors and medics hush a screaming hatchling and fix him so expertly started a fire in Cordias heart. He knew what he would do when he became a full fledged dragon. And so it was when Cordias birthday rolled around and it was time for him to leave. Canyon, his adoptive father, cried the entire week, though anyone who mentioned it would likely have to answer to his fists. Head full of battle stories and heart full of a need to heal, he enlisted in the first fighting company he could find as a medic. Much of the his first year was spent at sea, and then being hired by water clans who needed help clearing beast clan dens. Cordia would stay at the back lines, but he would bravely rush forward when one of his comrades was wounded, drag them out of the fight and try to patch them up as best he could before someone in more dire straits would need his attention. Then the company was hired by a large plague clan to help them with a land based campaign to expand their land and drive of any competition. He spent three years in the plaguelands, trying his hardest to keep his companions free of any disease and keep them going after near fatal wounds. He saw much bloodshed but when the plague clan threatened to not pay his group because he had saved dragons from the other side, Cordia decided he had had enough. He returned home to an elated Canyon. He now has a permanent place in Jötunheimr, but he still spends much of his time travelling, helping those wounded and abandoned whenever he can. His personality is now a little more stern than when he was a hatchling, but he still loves chatting with dragons, and his bright personality often helps as much as his bandages. |
