Biography
W E L C O M E
Weary wings and feet have carried you over a great distances from Quarantine Zone #128, now but a distant haze of glowing green on the horizon. The tall spires and crags of the northeastern Wastelands have become yet rougher as the border with the badlands of Dragonhome approaches. You have been traveling for some time now, and the glowing pools of rot and ooze have diminished; surely, it is safe now to rest?
Ahead, a tall spire of rugged black stone rises amongst the crags and peaks. The spire stands to the side of the mouth a valley with a small river running along its floor, but the most immediate thing you notice is the sprawling city of adobe and clay dens and bustling markets stretching out from the foot of the spire. Tendrils of the Wandering Contagion reach near the edges of this city and seem to crawl up the eastern most side of the spire, too, with yet more, larger dens fashioned from the torturous hollows beneath the vines. Roads and paths, many paved with colorful cobblestones, set up a web across the city.
The city itself seems to be laid out in tiers, with the upper tier being the largest and most widespread, roads leading directly from its dens to the large dens beneath the tangle of Contagion tendrils around the edges, and connecting to fields of what might have been pasture and orchard and farmland stretching away from the spire. The second tier, in a half moon shape in front of the spire and a level down from the first, was smaller, containing only the adobe and clay dens. The third had few dens at all, but seemed mostly taken up by a large, ovoid plaza just at the foot of the spire. A massive, gaping maw of an entrance leads into the spire itself, large enough for the largest imperial or ridgeback to walk with plenty of room to spare. This is where you choose to pause, staring ahead at the towering mass of black stone before you. None so far seemed to have opposed your presence in the city- but now, you are approached. A female gaurdian stands before you, horns and clawtips glowing a bright cyan. Her body is a dark aqua, and her wings and many frills and fans blend out into a soft, warm stone shade. A deep-sea bulb projects above her eyes like an anglerfish's, and she wears a golden trident strapped to her side and a deep yellow scarf about her neck. She looks like she belongs in the Sea, but red eyes give away her heritage. "Traveler, welcome. I am Lazula- would you like a guide?" |

The guardian turns back to you. "Would you like to follow me inside the Citadel, or did you have somewhere else in mind already? Perhaps you were looking to find our markets, and visit our merchants there?" You had seen the markets as you neared the plaza- they were large and sprawling. A diversity of goods and services must be available there, it might be interesting to take a look.
