Biography
Fang doesn't know where he came from in the Scarred Wasteland, just that he was born there and was taken in by Sapphire a mere hour after he had hatched, and after he had survived a few days successfully in her clan she had officially decided to keep him. Her reasoning for keeping him was only for training however, and Sapphire's training was rigorous to say the very least. But at least Fang wasn't entirely alone in the lessons his leader gave, he was joined by a mirror who was slightly older than him named Skye. They had become good partners when they trained, Skye even often made up for his lack of drive to fight with her mirror instincts until Sapphire started to focus on him more.
His leader made him into a fighter whether he wanted it or not, at the core of his being he could feel that the conflict was not what he wanted to be doing with his life but, Sapphire had made her point perfectly clear to him. If he wanted to survive in the land of the Plaguebringer he had to learn and Skye couldn't always pick up the slack for him, Fang would've felt terrible if he had to make her do that any more than she already had when he didn't want to fight. He listened to Sapphire and learned everything he could to protect himself and his partner, but seeing his claws tear through the threats he was given began to scare him more and more, at least Skye was good at calming him down.
He and Skye had together grown up to make a good team, but even though they had become strong and hardened enough by the brutal lands they lived in Sapphire continued their training together. She would begin to send them out together on what she called 'errands', but more often than not it was a test on their strength and emotions in the heat of battle. In all the training they had done together all that time, Fang had been slowly gaining feelings for his partner that he couldn't possibly get himself to say. Any attempt made to make his feelings clear to her backfired as he would just always ask for more training time rather than talking about it.
The imperial was too shy for his own good, everyone he had gotten to know in his clan knew this far too well. While he had easily trusted Skye, it had taken time for him to open up to his friends Nightglass, StarryNight, and even the very mirror who had rescued him so very long ago. But the mirror he relied on the most made up for his shyness with all her energy around him, easily calming down his concerns and getting him to talk to her over just about anything. But the one thing he wanted to say to her was something he just couldn't, his confidence with admitting his feelings is nonexistent and he honestly wonders if she has any idea of it at all.
Fang does still need time to himself however, when he needs to recover from the 'errands' Sapphire sends him on he tends to go to the library and read with his familiar. He will often talk to them as well, though of course his familiar doesn't really have a whole lot to say back, but they're pretty good at keeping secrets from everyone else; especially regarding Fang's crush on Skye. However it's not exactly the biggest secret anyway, many of their clanmates are already aware without too much of a word. They can only hope that the two will talk about their feelings eventually.
But until then Fang continues his 'errands' and training with Skye at his side. Sapphire continues to throw challenges at them and the more he talks with his mirror partner the more tempted he is to just tell her, thankfully he is beginning to feel just a bit less shy as of late. Perhaps a day will come soon when he'll feel comfortable telling her the truth at last, he can only hope he's not alone in his feelings.
