Biography
The two weeks she spent waiting for Sapphire's verdict on her potential, stand out as the only time in her memories when Fang wasn't right by Skye's side. He had been a small imperial when she met him but he still towered over her but she wasn't afraid of him for a second, in fact it almost seemed like he was more afraid of her at the time. With Fang joining the clan it seemed Sapphire had made her decision of training them together as partners, and there were no complaints from either of them at all. Thus their friendship under the training and watchful eye of Sapphire had begun, and nobody had ever said that it would be easy.
Despite their difference in species and personality, as they grew up Fang and Skye really did become friends even outside of training with their leader. She tended to be the one who would accidently get them in trouble while she was trying to play with Fang, but he stayed with her all the same as the most loyal friend she could've ever asked for. Skye also looked out a lot for her partner, the stronger combat training had gotten she figured she could handle it with ease and give Fang a break, it was unfortunate that her attempts didn't last long but he appreciated all that she had done anyway. Not every training session went great for her either though, as her imperial partner would often need to encourage her when she felt she hadn't done very well.
Through his support and continued assistance through their training and dangerous 'errands' from Sapphire, Skye had begun to have feelings for Fang that she couldn't figure out how to tell him about. In a way she felt that maybe he didn't really want a relationship considering how anxious he could get, but then there was the more harsh answer of just not liking her back despite all this time of knowing her, not even sparing a chance. She knew that didn't sound at all like Fang's personality, but in her mind at the time it seemed like it could happen! It could tear apart the friendship they'd had all this time together, and it would break her apart if that happened.
Trying to distract herself from the problem Skye threw herself into training more than ever, though this attempt would at least half the time backfire when Fang noticed her. He always loved to train with her even with his dislike of fighting, and there was no way that Skye could say no even with her feelings getting worse every day for her old friend. She tried to talk to her clanmates instead of Fang, but she would always end up going back to him and he could never know why she was acting the way she was, if he had even thought about it. Skye's secret was safe with her it seemed, but the mirror couldn't help thinking maybe it would be easier if had indeed gotten out.
At least throughout her distractions her skills did improve, making Sapphire send her and Fang out further for 'errands' while she would watch as she always did to see how they would do. Their skills together had become practically flawless even against some of the biggest monsters they had ever seen (even for an imperial like Fang himself), it was almost funny how Skye felt she wanted to try even harder in each fight to impress the imperial even with his lack of enjoyment in it. She just wanted to prove to him and him alone at the very least that she was strong, even when Sapphire told her this often in praising her fellow mirror. If Skye couldn't get Fang's attention with it, was it worth it? Was she worth it?
The messages the mirror gets from Fang are confusing with his lack of conflict but happy to train and fight with her, and being such a shy dragon but always speaking and being kind with her. She would always offer the same to him in return like good best friends would, but Skye would continue to be just moments away from telling him her feelings, and remaining oblivious to the feelings that Fang was expressing back to her. The rest of the clan continues to question if they will ever speak to eachother the way mates do, but time will tell and they will just have to be patient.
