Lily is the most incredible bio-engineer in the entire country of Auraboro. She has countless trophies tied to her name and a history that used to make her incredibly proud, but now they’re up in her attic, hidden away never to be seen again.

The dream of helping other dragons kept her going, and for years, she built and mapped out new inventions with that single intent in mind. But her higher-ups had other plans. Inventions originally made to heal were now being used to destroy.

Lily tried pushing back but she was just one engineer below many business dragons far stronger than her. This made Lily fall into a great depression, and she quit her job. She was so invested in her work that she didn’t even realize just how much time she had lost inside the facility.

She spent time doing the things she didn’t even know she liked; knitting and birdwatching were her favorites. It was during one of her strolls that she met Paige, the anxious teacher with a charming smile that would father her children. Their love story is one that puts many romances to shame, and she truly felt accepted by Paige despite all of her shortcomings, and she loved him all the same.

They had many hatchlings together, and Lily felt elated. But as time came, it took with it all of her children. Some died in the name of Auraboro, others fled never to be seen again. A few of them were born with a special ability which caught the eye of some guards that came knocking on her door. “For a greater cause,” they had said, but Lily knew of their true intentions.

But once again, Lily was powerless against the queen’s pawns, and when her youngests left their nests to search for new horizons, Lily was crushed. She locked herself in her room for days on end, barely eating when Paige brought her dinner.

The dragoness that once had a bright smile on her face now barely holds an expression. Paige is able to get her to go outside every now and again, and other dragons always stop to admire her beauty, but they have no idea of the turmoil going on beneath her scales.

She now barely speaks, and the new addition to the family has done little to nothing to ease her broken spirit. Lily still deeply loves Paige and the life they built together, she’s just unable to show it properly. And she hates herself for it.
