Sybil

Sybil walks with confidence, careless of the stares that her unusual appearance draws. How she ended up in Sunbeam Grotto is a tale known to few, but Sybil enjoys the slow pace of her newfound rural lifestyle, almost as much as she enjoys no one knowing her name.


Her story is simple - from a young age, she had trained with faith and honor unchallenged. Sybil didn't just win every time, she won every time without a single scratch. She was proud of her towering, intimidating form; she'd inherited an unusually large build, even for a Guardian, and it perfectly suited her choice of career. Until one day, a routine training session in the wilderness led to Sybil discovering a tattered old scroll...upon carelessly reading it, she found her form irreversibly altered...!

Sharp fins and jagged edges gave way to soft fur and smooth sinew. An effortlessly powerful and elegant Tundra suddenly stood in the place of a confidently fierce and coarse Guardian, and Sybil threw a fit.

After a period of fuming and unholy cursing, Sybil tried desperately to undo her sudden transformation. Not only would the switch be expensive, it would take over a month to acquire the necessary materials and arrange for an overseer...far too long to avoid training. Sybil eventually dragged herself to a sparring match, resisting the urge to hide away her new form. She fought, and she lost - the type of quick, stunning defeat she used to dish out to one opponent after another. Sybil begged her gloating sparring partner for a rematch, and lost again.

Again and again, until one day she didn't. As the weeks passed, full of sparring and strength training, Sybil slowly recovered control over her body. She realized she had more advantages than either a Guardian or a Tundra fighting with a single mind. Sybil learned to analyze and calculate while in combat, and over years became a deadly foe to rival - then surpass - her former self.

Sybil still has the commanding size and strength of a Guardian, but with the dense fur and posture of a Tundra. Most dragons have a hard time wrapping their narrow minds around such an unusual specimen, but Sybil is unbothered - she has adapted fully to her new form, still fearlessly fast and deadly as ever in combat. She strides past their questioning eyes, unbothered, en route to her next conquest.
