The Tale of Rust:

Everything was horrid here.

All the people careless, the mood dull and pointless. The world seemed to be too bleak. These ruins of electric spattered mesas and deserts where nothing grew of its own accord, only being brought into a continued existence through another being. Though, rumor spoke of a place where the sun shined and the land grew as it once had.

Of course her plan was to pillage whatever she could and come home. And of course the idea was to stay for only as long as absolutely necessary. But the sun was so warm, the light so magnificent.

What could it hurt to stay just a tad longer?
