"The universe is hostile, so impersonal, Devour to survive. So it is, so it's always been." Sorrowsworn is an entity of pure malice. Her sole purpose for existence is sowing seeds of fear and doubt in the minds and hearts of others. Her presence is only just tolerated by Lacrimosa, but the other dragons in the clan are not so keen to have a dragon as vile as Sorrowsworn in their midst. It is not uncommon for Sorrowsworn to find herself fleeing from an infuriated Requiem, Veil, or Oriik, though she always does so with a satisfied grin. Her wings, tattered and torn in places, are a visual reminder of her run-ins with other dragons. She bears these scars with pride. She is as cunning as the sharpest Shadow dragon. ambitious as the Lightning, which, coupled with her Plague savagery, makes her as dangerous as they come. While she does not embody a particularly imposing physique, her speed and remorselessness can very well lead to the untimely demise of those unlucky enough to cross her. She chooses her battles with care: woe be to the foe that she confronts head-on. Her parents were inattentive at best, and went into the service of the Plaguemother shortly after she hatched. It is their carelessness that made Sorrowsworn into the monstrosity she is today. If they had been more perceptive, they may have noticed that one of their eggs had a faint, swirling blackness within it. One of the Shade's tendrils had found it, and its essence was absorbed into the developing dragon within. It is the Shade that seethes within her, manifesting in a dark, toxic ichor that seeps from her mouth and skin. It drips from her maw, wings, and claws, withering and infecting everything it touches. Sorrowsworn has not been spared from its ill effects: her face has been burned in parts, exposing the bone beneath. "I will be here when you think you're all alone. Seeping through the cracks, I'm the poison in your bones. My love is your disease - I won't let it set you free 'til I break you." |
