Rapidwing

Rapid entered Arenite already full-grown, there is not much known about his origins besides him hailing from the Windswept Plateau. Feared for his menacing appearance, Rapid was avoided by other dragons from a young age, and in reaction has put up walls around himself. He is actually a very understanding, but somewhat stoic fellow, and not a dragon of many words.

He has a thing for Stargaze, but feels unworthy of her, and is therefore reluctant to make a move. His relationship with Gaze's current breeding partner, Sunblaze, is strained, after Sunblaze unknowingly provoced him into a battle he did not want (even though he won).
Rapid feels completely free only when soaring the skies above his home forests together with his hippogryph familiar, Darkie, whom he found as a hatchling. He is the fastest Imperial of the clan and a well versed hunter, snatching all kinds of airborne prey from the air effortlessly. He also is a member of Arenite's main exploration party, mainly acting as a support for Iris, the main damage dealer of the group.

The only dragon Rapid can call his friend is Archie, and they spend long hours enjoying each others presence (Mostly with Archie talking like a waterfall and Rapid listening to his friend's ramblings). He also started warming up to his co-explorers Iris and Bubbles, who came to understand that there is more to him than meets the eye. He gets along rather well with the newest addition of the exploration party, Nebula, which is mostly thanks to the older dragoness' observative and understanding nature. Recently, Rapidwing noticed some changes in Archie. His usually so talkative friend becomes silent at times. It looks like he is brooding over something, but whenever Rapid tries to bring it up, Archie avoids the subject, occasionally even snapping at him. Rapid stopped trying after a while, scared of risking their friendship should he continue with his inquiries. But he still knows his friend is hurting, which in return causes him suffering as well.

After a long time of fruitless pining, Rapid finally got over Stargaze. Well, more or less, as it sometiimes still hurts him to look at her, but he has realized that Stargaze simply does not see him as anything more than a comrade. For now he isn't looking for a mate, but Nebula's hints that someone in Arenite "has special feelings for him" make him curious.

Additional notes:
Fighting style: Living up to his name, Rapidwing specializes in fast, precise strikes. Attack-based enemies get assaulted with restless strikes, leaving them little time to counterattack, when fighting tankier enemies Rapid uses his speed to keep his distance between attacks. His defensive abilities are moderate, with him preferring to avoid hits to defending against them. Due to this, getting swarmed is nothing he handles too well.
