Massao once called the icefields home, training under the rigurous watch of his instructors. He came from a clan of medium renown, able to afford instruction for only a couple of their brightest and sharpest to learn the art of the blade. As a child it had always become his goal, so it was no surprise he ended up as one of the chosen, having dedicated his whole life to this endeavor until that very moment.

As a pupil he excelled, using his agility to rise in training against other dragons who would undoubtedly injure him with a single well placed strike. Unfortunately, he took the philosophy of a warrior very seriously, as one day a boastful imperial asked him for a formal duel to see who was the best out of them. Massao asked him three times in three different days if he really did want a formal duel, to which the Imperial impatiently said yes.

Nnot even a quarter hour after the Imperial had asked on the third day he lay on the ground dead, Massao respectfully praying for him. Everyone in the small village was outraged and Massao was banished, leaving him confused for many days as he wandered trying to understand what had he done wrong.
