'wolves asleep amidst the trees, bats all a'swayin in the breeze. Though one soul likes anxious wide awake, fearing all manner of ghouls, hags, and wraiths. Birds are silent for the night Cows turned in as daylight dies. But one soul lies anxious wide awake, scratching and tearing at his face. For the monster brave and bold, swayed not by cold of gold. He’ll chop and slice you, Cut and dice you. Eat. You. Up. Whole. Eat. You. Whole. There are few creatures lurking the remains of the Hewn City more terrifying than Vectivus. Born of nightmares and song, he obtained his physical corporeal form through the power of belief. A tulpa, his form and existence is dictated by those that fear him most. For if the masses believe he will sneak into your hut in the middle of the night, and carry away your loved ones, than it will surely come to be. Likewise, if it is rumored that he is unkillable, and immune to all magic, well. 'Tis only a small benefit to him really, and he's quite happy to continue on continuing on. He does not always maintain the form of a grotesque monster, eager to drain you of your life force and feast on marrow. Though the process to change from one to another is quite painful, it is at time necessary for him to blend in, if only sightly, to the world around him. That being said, his human form is quite striking and not at all inconspicuous. There must have been a time that the stories painted him a beautiful visage, for it lingers underneath his vile form. |
