Biography
They had come out of the fog.
Majestas and Mael had been awake, walking alone and in silence as they so rarely managed to do. The morning was cold but not frosty, and the vast majority of the Focal Point was shrouded in a thick cloud with a weird pinkish tint to it. Even the bulk of the Cathedral was invisible behind the cloud.
It was Mael who noticed them first, her tremendous olfactory sense finding traces of the approaching dragons even buried in the fierce stench of magic thrown off by the fog. She halted, stopping Majestas with a touch to the edge of one wing. The fog billowed, stretched, thickened – and resolved into two shadows striding purposefully towards the Cathedral.
Both of them were Imperials, the larger one in browns and grey more suited to Dragonhome than the brightness of the Starfall Isles, and the smaller in blacks and grey-blues that hid him in the night. Sirius was the name of the smaller one, a magician whose position in his old clan had become precarious with the arrival of a wizard with powers equal to but diametrically opposed to his barrier-magic. When his larger companion had indicated a bout of wanderlust, Sirius had simply upped sticks and walked out, heading into the fog without looking back.
The larger of the two was one of the the biggest dragons Majestas had ever seen. Sirius called him Tucknee, his name in his old clan, but Tucknee himself indicated quietly that he had changed enough in the journey to the Balmoral Cathedral that the name no longer fit him.
The fog burned away under the rising sun, and Majestas' misgivings burned away under Sirius' calm, polite answers. By the time that the great spire of the Cathedral was once again visible, Clan Balmoral had gained two new members.
As time passed, Sirius found himself befriending fellow wizard Freed, and the two of them can often be found together in the library. It is generally considered very dangerous to allow Unity to join their study groups, as it will invariably end with Unity discovering a new way to make it more difficult to find him, or an easier way to carry out his work as the clan assassin.
Since Majestas' self-imposed exile split the leadership of the clan, Sirius has become dark and strange, his body physically morphing to match the turmoil in his heart and magic. Only fearless Unity, companion Freed and naive Anubis will meet his eyes any more. (Anubis still steals his cat occasionally.)
