Sweet, kind, naïve. These are all traits that describe Shalom well. And why shouldn’t they? This wilclaw is a gentle soul, whose very name means “peace.” He certainly lives up to his name; a sensitive dragon who would prefer to compromise and discuss issues rather than harm another living being. Sometimes, Shalom’s nature can lead him to be a little too trusting, and a little too oblivious to the realities of the world around him. He often expects the best of people, even when they might not deserve it. Whether this is a bad thing or not remains to be seen. He’s well-loved by his clan, and openly shows affection for his fellow dragons. He’s always willing to lend a hand, or a claw as it were, to others in need. He’s also an eager student, who constantly seeks to take on new challenges and learn new things. He loves to read and explore, although he has much more book knowledge than common sense. Shalom’s sensitive nature is both a blessing and a curse in some ways. He’s deeply attuned to those around him, and often picks up on the emotions of others before they even know what they’re feeling. Because of this, he makes an excellent friend. In particular, Orca, Cosmic, Nola, and Yova value his companionship greatly. Orca often hoards old alchemical texts to give to Shalom as gifts—furthering his pursuit of knowledge. He has many friends, but no mate as of yet. Still, Shalom does enjoy the company of other dragons; attractive males in particular. He can often be found blushing and stuttering like a fool when asked about his interests, but he’s actually very much a flirt. He always has a clever compliment ready for his object of affection. Perhaps all those books have given him an idea or two about romance and flirting. Although Shalom hasn’t quite noticed it yet, his friends often try to set him up with other dragons. For example, Cosmic and Nola seem to have taken an interest in helping the young wildclaw’s love life along. If only they could get him to admit to his interests without stammering and blushing!
