Born to the weavers of the Passus Canorous, Gemma grew up knowing she was different. Though she looked like any other hatchling within the troupe's fold, others often gave her a large breadth of space citing excuses of not wanting to step on her tail or touch her fur. Eyes never quite as bright as the other hatchlings in her age group, the young tundra turned instead to her parents to see why others avoided them. Her father, an accomplished weaver, rarely left his loom beyond the necessities of food and sleep while her mother both wove great bolts of fabric and oversaw the trading of each one.

Mute from birth, Gemma has never made a sound. Instead she silently watches all who wander by, taking bits of fur when it goes unnoticed to work within her weaving. She took to the craft quickly, shaming both her brothers in the art as she began to weave intricate patterns shortly after embarking on the craft. Her parents, proud of her accomplishments, showed her how to hone her craft into a darker sort of magic. All magic has a price, that she knows, but it's always the wearer who pays that price. Troupe mates know to come to her should something foul happen to them for needs of revenge.

Though officially she's never caused a death directly, several of her buyers have 'mysteriously' vanished. Gemma seems to know where they've gone, though if it's death or simply another place is up for debate. One thing is certain, she's certainly left a mark in the craft she loves. At present, Gemma has decided to leave the troupe to find herself another place to hone her craft and offer her services.
