Achilles

Mate Story :

Like many couple’s stories, it changes depending on who you ask. But Achilles and Astra are different - they remember every single moment as if it was fate. Achilles journeyed through a packed marketplace, browsing the myriad of shops for anything, whatever could take his mind off the Coatl who dumped him for someone she thought had prettier scales. (“And what a stupid thing to break up with me for, too!”) Nothing seemed to appeal to him. It was just the everyday game - fruits and vegetables stacked in crates, fresh meat and fish hung on sticks, and the occasional jeweler’s or mason’s. But the one thing that appealed to him wasn’t any of the merchandise - it ended up being a Skydancer whose butterfly wings caught the sunlight that landed on his face. Her eyes lit up as if she saw something new and unique, and she couldn’t help but to introduce herself as “Astra.” The two wandered through the stalls and learned that they both share a passion for herbs and herb gathering, and that little encounter lead up to the start of a new clan.

Familiar Story :

Achilles met his familiar in the early days of his life with Astra, when they were starting out with their clan. They both found a set of caves in the Windswept Plateau, and were considering it as a possibility for their new home. Achilles ventured into one of the caves alone to comb as many caves as possible - the two didn’t want to stay long in the possibility of the caves being unsuitable for their clan. Deep into the cave, Achilles felt an odd feeling - something strong emitted from the dark. He held a torch up to what he believed to be the source, and it illuminated three glowing spheres orbiting around each other, each with the elements of earth, fire, and arcane. The light suddenly shone brightly reflected against the orbs, nearly blinding his eyes, causing him to shield his face using his wings. Despite this, Achilles couldn’t help but touch them when the light disappeared. He touched one of his talons to the surface of one of the balls, when his vision was blinded for a few seconds, and then he woke up, outside of the caves.

The orbs floated above him as he lay on the grass outside. As Achilles woke, Astra exited one of the caves, exclaiming, “Oh! Well that was quick? And who’s this?” Achilles got up, shrugging. He walked over to Astra, only to see the orbs followed his every step. “I guess he’s my newest friend…!” Achilles responded, before grinning at his new-found familiar.
