"It's made with rock sugar, actually, it seemed... appropriate."
Ocher's life before arriving in the Clan of Glowing Night was not particularly interesting - by his own admission. In fact, the only thing he can think of that's of note was that his parents were both bakers. And while Ocher doesn't know it, even the most stoic of the clan's dragons send prayers of thanks to two Earth Flight dragons they've never met, for the gift of passing on their most delectable of skills to their son. The Clan of Glowing Night would simply never be the same without Ocher around to made signature Shadow Flight branded cookies.
Although it's less his own story than it is his mate Naumanni's, the tale of how they fell in love might be worth a retelling or two. Ocher can still remember when his ceremonial representative apparel still felt new and heavy on his shoulders, when he would catch glances of their Wind Flight representative standing apart from the rest of the clan and their familiars. How he broke into her bubble of isolation with a box of cloud-white meringues.
Her story of guilt and misunderstanding invoked mixed feelings in Ocher, who's home clan had always had very close and positive relations with the Beastclans. There were things she had done that she was not proud of, but perhaps that was the sign she needed, to know that she had changed for the better. At least, that was what Ocher had suggested to her. From there, life went on, and every once and a while Ocher would sneak his mate a sugar cookie iced with a light green rune.
