Birch didn't have a single whisper of magic to her. Her mother River Runs North fretted over Birch when she was an egg, worrying that with such a weak magic aura she wouldn't survive. But she hatched, and she thrived. Birch would always have a chip on her shoulder over her lack of magic but it didn't stop her from taking up her father's trade.

She followed Umber down into the mines on the northern side of the Plague territory, closest to Dragonhome, where the mineral veins ran richer. Umber had trouble keeping up with his daughter's enthusiasm as she bounded through tunnels and picked her way through rubble. Eventually she became experienced enough to go off on her own. Despite being completely mundane, Birch has an exceptional nose for finding good ore.

A particularly thick vein of ore goes right underneath your clan and Birch has come to mine it, with your permission. How Birch fits into your clan is up to you.
