Born from the desperation of two ancient clans, one that had left the scarred wastelands looking for a brighter future and the ones who stayed to fight, he was destined to become another sacrifice, another number, on the attempts to destroy the Wyrmwound to end the propagation of the never-ending calamity and bring better days for those who are trapped forever within the realm of the plaguebringer. Training on the arts of the sword since a young age, due to the golden marks on his body, his gaze always wandered beyond the horizon, going higher, imagining what it felt to cross the frontier and explore the lands of the wind currents, and breath fresh cold air, so different from the hell he was so used to. When they announced that he was ready to go and fulfill his destiny, filled with the stories about the open oceans that his grandmother had told him for the brief moment that they spent together in his childhood, he took the determination to run away. Covered by a dark cloth, with enough food for a few days, he opened his wings and flew towards the reedcleft ascent. Little did he knew that he submit himself to a test of aptitude to the eyes of the clans from the wind nation. He spent formative years with a wind clan, who accepted him as part of the family despise his bright red eyes, learnt all about medicinal herbs and how to surpass the strongest wind currents without breaking a sweat. He thought he had found that place called home, but deep within him, he wanted to see more. He felt the uncontrollable need to see the highest of the mountains and deepest of the oceans, to experience different cultures, eat all sorts of foods and to discover the medicinal herbs and brews around the globe. That’s why one night he prepared his belongings, wrote a goodbye letter to the clan that took him like he was one of them that morning, and left at dawn to start a new adventure, and live yet another new life. |
