Mabel is an exercise in contradictions. With impeccable fashion sense and a ladylike demeaner, she's also the first one to wade directly into the swamplands to pound on the local shade-infested wildlife for the benefit of her young charges.
Mabel is an excellent warrior, though she prefers training other dragons for the service of the Lightweaver to performing defense maneuvers with Kelmarin. She is fond of the patrol routes Dante plans out, however - it gets her need to wander out of her system. Her young trainees are often in awe of her ability to master a fight and handle situations that look like they have every chance of going pear-shaped at any given moment.
They're also in awe of her ability to come out of the swamp looking even better than she did going in, whereas they tend to emerge looking more like Swamp Dragon of the Black Lagoon. Mabel just smiles, shifts her goggles to rest on her forehead, and explains, "It's just Magic, dear."
