Biography
Argent- Mercenary- The Smoldering Opportunist
Theme Song
Mate: Who needs 'em?
Quirk: Creating weapons to attach to her tail.
Argent is a mercenary who is willing to do plenty of things for the right price. She is single-minded in her pursuit of a massive treasure hoard, and hunts for her ward on the side. Argent is ruthless, but has a sense of humor and a rather sarcastic disposition. She's known to make very little of those who are sentimental or kind- in this world, you've gotta be strong and out for yourself or else you never make it.
Despite her icy origins, Argent always had a gift for working with metal. She had a distaste for the cold and collecting and felt more at home in the warmer climates of the Shifting Expanse and the Ashfall Waste, the latter which was her home for a time. Argent worked tirelessly in the volcanoes of her home, constantly creating new mechanisms with her skills. One such day, a Ridgeback came to her with a simple request- a sword crafted out of her strongest metal. The request was strange- why use a sword when a dragon had claws and teeth? But she wouldn't say no to payment. Argent made the weapon and the dragon was on his way. Soon, more dragons came- the Ridgeback had spread word of her skills. As her requests started piling up, so did her money. The doubts of not locating her ward pushed to the back of her mind, Argent continued her craft.
The truth came out later. The armor and weapons she was creating were being used for sinister purposes. A dragon had claws and teeth, but when a sword is the murder weapon, it could be anyone. Her armor was being worn into wars, her weapons used to kill others. Argent viewed the whole situation with a weariness that did not suit her. However, her peers saw her indifference as a problem of morality. Argent was shocked when they asked her to stop creating instruments of war. It wasn't HER fault that they were used for that purpose. Regardless, she was forced from her studio and sent away.
She wasn't too perturbed, but it was hard to set up business- on top of that, her requests were still piling up. Soon, dragons became angry- they wanted their weapons and armor. Argent would sigh and tell them she couldn't create their needs at this time, but the dragons grew more furious each day. Eventually, the Ridgeback who had first requested the sword appeared with a mob- they planned to take Argent and force her to make weapons.
At that moment, something strange happened. The metal that Argent had been creating responded to her anger, and she fired the scalding hot material at her attackers. Howls of pain echoed in the air as the mob began to disperse. Argent continued on, grabbing a nearby blade and getting to work. She was shocked. This was what they were using her swords for? It seemed so...easy.
It was the perfect solution. Rather than making weapons for others, she'd make them for herself. Forget letting other dragons do the work- SHE would be the assassin now. Her weapons were superior to most and no one would be able to steal her secrets. And killing was sure to fetch a better price than metal works. Argent then began her life as a mercenary. Soon enough, the money started piling up. Well known across the land, she became a woman of clever killing and shrewd deals.
One day, a Skydancer found her. Her name was Veil, and according to her, she needed help freeing some of her old comrades. Argent scoffed at the idea of a jailbreak, but Veil requested that she needed her services- only Argent had the craftsmanship to make a set of keys that unlocked the prison cells. Argent wanted to refuse, but the amount of money Veil had at her disposal was too great to resist. She began to make the keys. It is unknown how Veil and Argent plan to break into the prison.
"Argent? I've heard of her...she was in the Ashfall Waste years ago...had a big business. No idea what happened to her." -Nero
"Just the kind of amoral muscle I'll need." -Veil
"Fair warning- these silver weapons are worth a lot of your gold." -Argent
