Dusk
| A fae in a dark cloak is sitting by a fire. Hatchlings gather around him, listening to his story. The adults eye the mysterious fae warily. As you approach the fire, you catch the beginning of his next story. "No one knows where Willowisp came from. He and Dusk haunt the darkest places of Forest. Some say Dusk created Willowisp to lead dragons to their deaths. Some say Willowisp and Dusk have no connection beyond living in the same forest. But some, who know the truth of the matter, say that Dusk and Willowisp are mates. Long ago, Dusk and Willowisp were ordinary dragons. They lived in different clans, but their histories are strikingly similar. They went by different names then, as their current names are simply the ones you've given them. Growing up, they both became a little... shade-touched. The Shade seeped into their hearts and minds." The audience gives an appreciative murmur after that. "Their clanmates cast them out. After they were cast out they wandered, lost and lonely, across Sornieth. By that time, they had succeeded in driving the Shade out. But no clan would accept a dragon with a history of being shade-touched. Finally, they found each other. They were the only ones who could truly understand each other. Dusk and Willowisp became mates." |

"They had both long since given up on the rest of dragonkind, so they sought a place they could call their own, a place where they could be free. After wandering for months, they found the Forest of Amethyst Mountain. In its depths they dwell. During the day, Willowisp sleeps under the cap of his mushroom familiar and Dusk sleeps between the roots of ancient trees. At night, Dusk searches for ingredients for her potions and spells. When the need arises, Dusk does not shy from adding a bit of Shade to her magic. Willowisp explores the Forest. And if his light happens to lead a few dragons to get lost in the forest, well, he can hardly help that." The strange fae laughs. The hatchlings around him are thoroughly spooked. Without another word, the fae flies silently off into the night. As he leaves, his hoods fall from his face, revealing a bright blue shining bulb. Willowisp gives you a mischievous smile, then disappears into the dark.
