Biography
Gene was born to a clan on the very edge of the Ashfall Wastes, close to the Southern Icefield. His parents, a fae female and a guardian male, doted upon him and taught him important life skills.
He was not much of a fighter and preferred to read and learn magic. His father wanted him to go out and begin his own journey as he himself had and this caused Gene and his father to constantly be at odds.
His mother was able to keep the peace but she knew there was only so much she could do. Instead she began packing a few things she thought her son may need as well as food and drink provisions and some treasure from the coffers with the blessing of their leader. He was an old, battled-scarred, WIldclaw but he understood the tiny fae's worries.
Several days later, when his mother was out catching insects, Gene and his father got into a heated argument, that ended with Gene being forced out early that morning. By evening, Gene had traveled a decent way and decided to stop for dinner and then sleep. He discovered, however, that his mother, with all her good intentions, had only packed insects for him. Laughing at the irony, he began scratching at the brush around him.
As he foraged, a Guardian female offered him her help, which he kindly refused. She wouldn't be deterred and he eventually accepted her assistance and soon found he rather liked her. They ate together and then, together once again, dug out a place to sleep.
Days later, Rayne began scratching around and nest building and Gene took interest. Once satisfied, she prompted Gene and they soon had four, healthy eggs and a strong start to their own clan with Gene as the patriarch.
