Lackluster she thought, her lips curving with irritation at the new recruits. Their tiny forms shifting and trembling as they attempted to run through the expansion of dry and dead land.

It was unfortunate for her that on this day she was required to teach these mismatch of rejects. Rejects whom were incapable of surviving within the Abiding Boneyard, and so instead she forced them to watch the boarder of the Scarred Wasteland, checking the territory for potential intruders.

How strange the Spiral mused, that of all the places to attempt an invasion this day it would be the dragons of Tangled Wood. She saw it clearly, her red eyes sharp and piercing. Gazing at the shape of a young dragon on the edge of the woods. He was almost hidden, with midnight scales and leathery wings.

She didn’t know what it was he grabbed, it was to small, far to small even for her. But she felt a heat burning in her chest, a deep rooted hatred that had many years to fester and many scars to justify. Her face covered in the dark pelt of a massive wolf. Mutilated in her youth, by outsiders.

Every part of her wanted to snatch up this witless dragon, to send her recruits upon him. Her eyes shifted back and forth, for all she knew this was a distraction, a ploy to have her leave her post with the weakest of their clan.

Someday but not now, she thought to herself. She’d bide her time and if this peculiar youngster stepped to the edge of the boarders again she wont be so kind. She’ll end him an ambush or not for daring to tread into the wastes.

I send my pestilence and plague
Into your house, into your bed
Into your streams, into your streets
Into your drink, into your bread
Upon your cattle, on your sheep
Upon your oxen in your field
Into your dreams,
into your sleep
Until you break, until you yield
I send the swarm, I send the horde
Thus saith the Lord

I send the locusts on a wind
Such as the world has never seen
On every leaf, on every stalk
Until there’s nothing left of green
I send my scourge, I send my sword Thus saith the Lord
