Biography
In a long ago year, a little prince was born without a drop of royal blood in his veins. Prince Evereen was the name murmured throughout the clan amid loving chuckles. And he was no brat but a grave, thoughtful hatchling who dreamed of beauty and chivalry and glory.
Raised by a Plague clan, his peers lived by the creed of survival, strength, and supremacy. The unpredictability of his species’ lifespans haunted the Imperial from childhood. Any day, he could go to sleep strong and healthy and never wake up again. As he matured, his terror of death threw him into a depressive spiral. Despairing and overwhelmed, he despised the cruel rawness of the Abiding Boneyard. If he must die, at least he wished to die somewhere calm and peaceful. Under the pretense of a knight’s errantry, Evereen bade his clan farewell and left to find his grave.
His journey took him to the Starwood Strand, where he saw beyond the fumes of the Wyrmwound. For the first time in his life, he saw the stars, untouchable by life or death. Beneath the galaxies, the Arcanist breathed in his ears.
Fearful child, whispered the god. Wonder is a thing more beautiful than everlasting life. Cherish it while you can, and never throw away what could be a gift.
And staring into the heavens, Evereen held onto these words while he watched the years roll by. Though the Starfall Isles never grew dull, the beauty of the land urged him to new places, to see everything he could before time dribbled away.
That was a long time ago. Two hundred years later, he is still here. Waiting, watching, and living.
