Darkmage. Once noble blood now runs slow, and cursed, through his gilded veins. He turned his back on light long ago. In blinding himself he saw the Truth of power and, wont to share it, bound his tongue to a vow of silence. His kin haven't spoken to him since; they are greeted, if at all, by an echoing huff of steaming breath. The children huddle together and tell of his voice, soft, hushed whispers in a language they can't make out, or hope to understand. The elders hush them, bat such nonsense out of their heads. Too wise, perhaps, to consider the chance that they might be right.
