Discovery!

The Coven and I collected strange bones, located in a desolate thicket outside of the Grove. A night's length of a walk if you're brisk. Outside of this strange bramble, runes, ruins, and artifacts alike were haphazardly strown about. But stranger more, this place came out of nowhere. The Hunters proclaim this place seemingly materialized between now and the last Expedition.

Peculiar still, strange flora has also sprouted, hence being summoned out here. I shall take some samples back to camp to study, but, if I am to be honest, I am not sure where to start.

Confusion...

Nothing I have tried seems to have worked on these bones, and they have begun to liquify- much akin to the bones after our failed séance. I do still have a bit more of this... Goo. I can always try to extract their essence with a potion.

As for the herbology research, it does seem to yield some success. The samples of the plants I've gathered prove to be quite useful for extracting the inky, black substance from the bone remains. Nightingale might be able to use the bones now, at least, as they seem useless to me.

I have determined this flora I have collected to be... Ancient. Extinct? There is no other plant life like this found anywhere in the Shadow Domain. Alas, my research continues.

Recipes:

One puff from a Fiddle Puff
One bloom of Dusk Aconite
3 vials of "Goo"
7-10 fresh scales
Equal parts Draconic Blood
Boil under a full moon until thick
Add in 3 Shadowbinder's Tears, combine with a Mortar and Pestle until smooth
Place concoction into a basin under a full moon. Wait.
Add cleaned bones into the mixture. Stand back.

The sludge will begin to bubble. Be sure not to touch it or get near the basin while it is forming. You will know the process is complete when the basin stops churning. You will begin to hear wind and rustling leaves, but nothing around you will be moving. Do not show fear. Ask your question firmly, and with confidence. Do not ask anything about yourself or the... entity inside the basin. You will not make it out of the clearing.

Horror,

Everything has gone wrong. The Coven and I performed another séance under the full moon, but something went awry. The basin begun boiling over and that inky black seeped into the soil. The foliage under our claws began to decay and rot. Trees fell over with no noise, but seemingly slipped right into the now unstable ground. A figure, spotted by Spirit, started to form behind the thick pine trees that line our little homestead.

The air, now thick in our lungs, started to suffocate us all while this misty figure watched with glowing eyes, whispering and shaking in the distance. I do not know how we all managed to get away from that horrible clearing. The Council has move to take over the clan while the four of us try and recover and steady our minds. Our comrades inside the Grove have been warned to stay away from the forest and to stay in the protection of the Glowshroom's light. I fear this may be the end of the quiet life we have made for ourselves here.

I will be burning this notebook the next chance I get. No one should ever be allowed to read these horrors.
