Vrancea
Clan Leader

Vrancea had no idea what was calling to her when she left her nest on what most guardians call "The Search", though Vrancea has never really understood why it's called that. She always says she knew exactly where she was headed as if pulled through life directly to her charge.

Vrancea laid her eyes on her charge for the first time as dug his way up into the Carrion Canyon after "borrowing" a full seafood trap from the Tsunami Flats. "What are you doing?" She asked.

"I swear I was just borrowing it. You can have it back if--"

"Oh, it not mine. I was just curious...."

Vrancea could see how hard the silver and red dragon was trying to hide his embarrassment at being caught and it was honestly a little endearing. "Since you're here... Would you care to share?" He asked, shuffling his paws in the sand.

"That would be kind, thank you."

Her charge's name was Sigur, a Ridgeback dragon who had been living on his own in a lair on the edge of the shifting expanse and the Sea of a Thousand Currents and he was in the canyon because he was just very bad at directions. Vrancea said she had been traveling for the last year to find something that had been calling to her and she wasn't sure, but she thought maybe it was in the Shifting Expanse. Sigur offered her a place to stay while she was in the expanse as long as she could get food, especially fish, for them both. They grew close quickly and by the end of the first year, they were inseparable.

During a trip to check traps off the edge of Fishspine Reef, Vrancea came across two very young Guardians trying to outswim a hungry Deeprealm Hunter. She dove in to help but quickly realized this was a fight they could not win. At the first opportunity, she grabbed the hatchlings and began the swim for their lives. They were met at the edge of the reef by a hunting party who had been headed out to see what they could find. The team jumped in at the opportunity to fight something so large as it would feed their clan for the month if not more. After sending the hatchlings to hide in the kelp, Vrancea helped the team fight long enough for the Deeprealm Hunter to flee back towards the trench with the hunting party in pursuit.

Vrancea returned to the hatchlings, now emerging from hiding. Their names were Bratus and Talaz, brothers from a roaming clan who had been in the Windswept Plains when they parted from the group on their own Search. "My partner, Sigur, and I have a lair that you could stay in with us. We'll feed you and make sure you're safe until you think you can both move on." Vrancea suggested to which both hatchlings agreed.

The brothers stayed with Vrancea and Sigur, by the time frost was beginning to appear, the group had seen each other through highs and lows and functioned smoothly as a team. However, spring came and the brothers told the older dragons they felt they needed to go find their charges. Vrancea and Sigur exchanged a look before asking to join the brothers on their journey. They felt the four had become a family brothers agreed, feeling the same way and so they began their journey. They traveled through the Sunbeam Ruins, the Tangeled Wood, and the Viridian Labyrinth before coming to Dragonhome where Talaz stopped them, saying he felt this was the place he was meant to protect.

A year later, the four dragons had finally adapted to the new way of life and hunting required in Dragonhome. Sigur and Vrancea had hatched their first nest and seen the young dragons off as the hatchlings felt ready. Talaz guarded the lair and the crater with pride. Bratus had not yet found his charge, but yet he stayed.

Over the next 15 years, the group accepted many dragons into their lair--some just passed through, others stayed much longer-- Finally, realizing this would be their permanent home, Vrancea and Sigur decided to set down rules and declare their lair a clan.

the pair have happily running the clan for decades and have seen many dragons come and go from their ever-growing family but both expect and hope to see the clan continue to thrive for many decades to come.
