The reluctant king of Clan Roava, Rasmus is in charge of the day to day running of the clan, as well as bettering the clan in any way that he can.

PERSONALITY
Rasmus has been a fun-loving dragon from the start, though he's certainly mellowed with age, carefully learning to balance responsibility with his own wants. That said, he never quite acts exactly how one might think a king "should" act, sometimes to the woe of his family within the clan. Nonetheless, no one will ever fault his exuberance nor his deep love for the clan that he rules.

EARLY LIFE
Spending his early months aboard his parents' pirate airship, Rasmus often dreamed of a life below the clouds, of spending his life exploring the world (and perhaps finding some hidden riches...being raised by a pirate mother tends to instill a sort of thirst for that sort of thing). His chance came in the form of a..."friend" of his mother's, another pirate captain by the name of Aranea. Aranea's ship sailed on the seas, and would give him plenty of opportunity to see the world. Signing up aboard her ship, The Crimson Jewel, he quickly became her favorite, his charm, quick wit, and scoundrel-like tendencies something that she admired. It wasn't long before Aranea suggested a match between Rasmus and her youngest daughter, Dalia. Rasmus agreed, admiring the Skydancer's beauty and prowess in battle, and Dalia couldn't help but go along with her mother's wishes, though she had no interest in the immature Coatl. Dalia had been hatched with the sole intention of being molded by her mother into a vicious warrior, and one day murder her elder brother who had betrayed their mother. Even now, Rasmus feels guilty over how long it took him to realize just how terrible that was. For a long while he attempted to woo the Skydancer, though all of his attempts fell flat, as shallow as they were. It was only when he began to realize - during the few times Dalia agreed to spend the day with him onshore - that his feelings for her were quite deep, did he start to see just how emotionally damaged the captain's daughter was. While he would only realize it later, Rasmus matured a great deal once his eyes cleared and he saw exactly how cruel Aranea was. It became Rasmus' sole goal to get Dalia away from her mother, away from this predetermined destiny that Aranea had crafted for her. While it wasn't uncommon for him to spend time away from the ship, Aranea's appreciation for him giving him a lot of leeway, he still felt the need to be careful while he enacted his plans. He knew that Aranea would turn on him in an instant if she knew of his intentions, and that even if he was able to get Dalia away, that Ara would hunt them down. Thus, his thoughts swirled for days until he came up with what he hoped would be a suitable plan. He would find somewhere, somewhere secluded and hidden away, somewhere that Aranea would never find them, somewhere for them to call home. Even if Dalia didn't want to be with him - he wasn't foolish enough to think that some grand gesture would suddenly change her feelings towards him -, at the very least she would be free from her mother, and that was all that mattered. It took longer than he would've liked, but finally, he found it: an island off the coast of Dragonhome, devoid of any other dragon life, with no reason for Aranea to ever give it a second glance even if she were to sail right by it. There was a small sect of Serthis living in seclusion on the island, and while they nearly killed him when he first came into contact with them, with the help of his familiar and friend, Gale, he was able to forge something resembling a friendship with them. When it came time to whisk Dalia - as well as her siblings, suffering nearly as much under Aranea, and his and Dalia's newly hatched children - away to this safehaven, though, it was too late. Dalia died in his arms on the shores of the island, dead at her mother's hand, finally free from a life she had never wished for.

CURRENT
Dalia's death did not negate the fact that, at the very least, Rasmus had managed to save their children, Ravi and Soleil, and Dalia's half-siblings, Rusila and Cord. Over time, the three adults built a life on the island, raising the children, free to live however they may wish. Unexpectedly, dragons from Aranea's birth clan (Clan Bristlecone, who had helped Rasmus to build a few homes on the island at his bequest - Aranea had been cast out of the clan, and they were happy to help any who wished to get away from her) began to trickle in, looking for a fresh start themselves. After a tragedy in Bristlecone, quite a few more dragons made the move, needing to get away. For a while, Rasmus, Rusila, and Cord led their unexpected clan together, but after they built a castle to house their new residents, a series of events led Rasmus to being crowned as king of the clan. Another unforeseen thing to happen in Rasmus' life was the relationship between him and Cord, growing over time from nonexistent, to friendship, to something more.
