Origins -Unlike most dragons, Valdis has no use for precious gems. She claims an entirely different kind of treasure: corpses. Her name was not given, for there was none to give it to her so she chose the name that fit her beyond measure: Valdis, goddess of the dead.

Having abandoned the Light Realm, Valdis roams the Scarred Wasteland, picking through scores of dead and dying dragons. Infection and disease have little effect on her but she is not infallible. A shattered serpent, who goes by the name of Labassu, found her hovering on the brink of death. He patiently waited for three days and three nights, hoping to make her his next meal. Valdis never perished and struck out at him whenever he dared wander too close. Labassu found he respected her ferocious spirit and nursed Valdis back to health. The two reluctant friends wander the Realm of the Plague and the Shadow Realm, taking nourishment from the dead, the dying, and the infirm.
