JOB DESCRIPTION
Going from Verin's protege to her lieutenant was a very natural transition. Io acts as Verin's second in command, often handing down orders or even giving orders herself. Newcomers to the Guard are often amused by the small Fae fluttering about, though they quickly learn that the battle hardened Fae deserves nothing but the utmost respect.

PERSONALITY
Spending much of her time with Verin, Ioensis is all business. Like most Fae, though perhaps to an even higher degree with her, it's nearly impossible to joke around with her. Her number one priority is the safety of the clan, and she would give everything to ensure this safety. Once, there was the smallest of soft spots in her heart for her former mate, Tesla, but his decision to leave the clan and subsequently end their relationship simply drove her to pour herself even more into her job.

EARLY LIFE
Io came to the clan via her father, Castor. Before his current mate came to Bristlecone, he was sent to a nearby clan to have a nest with one of the clan's dragons. Upon hatching, Castor brought Io back to Bristlecone with him; while he as an Imperial, knew little of Faes, he was excited to have her around. As she grew, though, it was clear their personalities clashed. This strife was made worse when he became mate to Aeira, a young Imp nearly the same age as Io herself. Aeira's loving attempts to mother the young Fae were met with backlash, and Io rarely spent time in their shared den. Still an adolescent, Io found herself in awe when she first met Verin, the head of the Clan Guard. While her father laughed and her stepmother worriedly told her she was just too small when she told them that she wished to join the Guard, Verin solemnly told her that she would have to train extensively, and that it wouldn't be easy for a dragon of her size, but that she would help her. Since then, it is a rare sight to find the Ridgeback commander without Io sitting on her shoulder or hovering nearby.
