Tali

Tali's mother Senya used to say that she had four lungs. How else would she have had the breath to talk as she does? Even hatching out of the egg, Tali was chirping. Throughout her childhood, she would babble on incessantly. She was an expressive hatchling, picking up on her mother and father's signals and repeating them back easily, and learning to speak more quickly than her nestmates. She even overcame her Fae tendencies for a monotone voice. She had been fascinated by a clanmate's manner of speaking. His name was Akenska, and through him she learned to modulate her voice to show vocal emotion as well as any other breed.

Tali's parroting abilities made her a hit. Afternoon storytime in her clan, once headed by her mother, came to be her responsibility, since Tali could tell the stories just as well as she could - and in Senya's voice, if she wanted to. It was in this way she gathered all the stories her clan had to offer and hung around the marketplace in the Shifting Expanse in order to gather more. Her sister would tell her some as a form of present.

Her stories were prized by her, but she'd find that a newcomer to the clan would value them just as much. A dragon named Crius, the son of the matriarch of an allied Nature clan, arrived one day beginning his Search. It was Tali's duty as the firstborn of the clan's leaders to accomodate him as he prepared for his journey. Over the meal they'd prepared for him, Tali began to regale him with one of her beloved stories, which quickly turned into a showcase of nearly all she knew. Crius had found his Charge in Tali's stories, and remained with her in the clan to curate and preserve them.

Tali wasn't satisfied with her current batch, however, and began to dream of travelling across the world with Crius to find even more stories to tell. The two left their home in the Shifting Expanse and traveled across Sornieth gathering as many as they could find. Now, Tali finds herself in a unique place in the Southern Icefield. She's surrounded with not only Ice dragons whose stories were unavailable to her a short while ago, as the Icefield had been stringently kept isolated, and stories of their trials and rituals and legends, but the same of the dozens of dragons from all across Sornieth that trickled through Bonerattle Point each day. Tali spends her days enjoying tales from every corner of the mapped world. She wonders what her own story will be in the future.
