Biography

Anyone who knows Asriel would describe him as a loving, gentle dragon.
Born into royalty, Asriel has always felt humbled by his background. His parents were the King and Queen of an ancient kingdom, although they have since retired comfortably in the Starfall Isles, long before he was hatched. Still, Asriel knew that they were wise, benevolent rulers, and this knowledge was often in the back of his mind. He grew up learning the same royal lessons his parents had been taught, and he always thought to his Clanmates around him, to those less fortunate. He often considers other dragons' healthy, safety and comfort before his own - if he were honest with himself, he wouldn't be sure how to be happy without depending on others' happiness first. Still, his life is nothing to complain about. He is the lucky one. He himself is a docile and timid Tundra, often meekly interacting with his friends and family. He is the silent smile, the encouraging nod, the tiny chuckle. He always has room for a hug and offers his sympathy to those around him; although he may not remember every dragon's name, he knows their scent and remembers them in the typical Tundra fashion. Some might say that abusive dragons take advantage of his kindness and honesty, they manipulate him and fly off snickering at their luck. Asriel is aware that other dragons are not as forward-thinking as he is, and he knows that they are the unlucky ones. When he was still young, he decided it would be a nice surprise for his parents' anniversary to pick some flowers, fresh from the cliffs of the Starfall Isles. He was picking some flowers that a Nature dragon would be proud of - the Arcane magic allowed the blossoms to grow large and glow brightly, gleaming in the sun and emitting an odd, tickly-sort of scent that sometimes gave dragons ethereal day-dreams or strange headaches. It was a bright, sunny day. There was naught a cloud in the sky. Asriel enjoyed himself, humming quietly under his breath. He had a pawful of flower stems, the petals dancing in a slight breeze. He was alone, and happy. Suddenly, a crash sounded just over the knoll. Asriel glanced up, his ears flat, shocked. He hurried over, concerned and intrigued. It wasn't until he crested the hill that he realized it was a dragon that had fallen from the sky, not a harpy or some sort of wayward magic-infused cloud. "Oh my Arcanist!" Asriel gasped and hurried over to the Fae's side. "Are you okay, little one? It's alright. I will help you - my Clan and I will help you." Their body was broken and curled into itself, shivering in pain. But Asriel nuzzled the small dragon and pulled out a blanket to wrap them in. The Fae, Chara, looked up at the Tundra with bemused eyes, and Asriel gave a small, gentle smile. He could tell that this Fae had grown up in a hard, angry way, but there would be room for them in his Clan, his family. "It will all be okay." |
