LORE IDEAS:
The patient, gentle-hearted scribe to Allbright Balcony's mayor, Adam. Humble, open, soft-spoken. Perhaps a little bit of a smart-***, though his gentle diction oftentimes makes it hard to tell. Wildly talented writer, can take down notes in practically the blink of an eye and dabbles in poetry and short story writing. He thinks his stories are nothing special, but everyone else thinks they're just so charming and fantastic. If told to take note in a situation, he catches every single detail in perfectly-spaced, carefully crafted handwriting. He never fails to write down every word verbatim and still manages to add small, personal observations. Sometimes he will include simple but clear drawings to go along with his notes. He is very good at his job, and he knows it, though he'd never say so out loud.

He and Adam have been close friends nearly all their lives. They grew up together, albeit in different classes of society. He is particularly indulgent of his best friend's whims; though he may gently rebuff the wishes and requests of others, he'd never even consider doing the same with Adam. They're brothers through and through - and besides, he knows Adam would do the same for him. The two of them can get up to some pretty wild shenanigans, with Adam instigating and Desmond smoothing things over in the end.

He keeps the darker, smuttier stuff hidden away for obvious reasons; he pretends as though those genres are too shocking for him to handle or even envision. Many an old lady would fall into a swoon if they read some of his real masterpieces.
