Brief description of personality:
Xalen is quite adventurous by nature, preferring to travel and explore rather than to get into a pokemon battle. To be honest, he hates those who think of pokemon as weapons, but friendly pokemon battles are fine by him. He loves to discover new things and has a interest in hunting for treasure. Forever the optimist, it is rare for anyone to see him not smiling. Xalen is very resourceful and dependable. If something needs to be done, you can bet that he will find some way of doing it. He loves meeting new people and socialized easily with others. He has a special fondness for dark, poison, and ghost type pokemon.

Physical appearance:
Xalen is 5'6" and has an average build with just hints of muscle from traveling and exploring. His hair is black and shaggy, although not shaggy enough to hang down in his eyes. His eyes are a steely grey color and his skin is lightly tanned from being out in the sun. He typically wears a black short sleeved shirt with a navy blue jacket over it, light colored jeans, and black tennis shoes. Xalen also has a blue and white backpack filled with various necessary supplies such as potions, food, pokeballs, antidotes, and various other things. Some untypical things within his backpack include maps, parchment, pens and pencils, a compass, and a few odds and ends of treasures that he has managed to find.

History/Backstory:
Xalen grew up in a very loving home in Hearthome City. His parents were probably the source of both his positive attitude as well as his love of traveling. They are a pretty eccentric duo and are currently on a trip around the world and have been since Xalen left on his own journey. (Just as a reference, if any of you know of Isaac and Miria from the anime Baccano, that is close to what his parents act like) He was old enough to remember when Team Galactic was still in power and his views were greatly effected by having seen what they had done.

Pokemon 1: Spook (Starter)
Species: Haunter
Gender: Male
Description: A bit more of a greyish purple than the average Haunter, however he is a little bit smaller than average. Spook likes to play pranks on people and pokemon alike, using his ability to pass through solid objects to jump out and scare them.

Pokemon 2: King
Species: Larvitar
Gender: Male
Description: The scales on his belly are a bit more of a red-orange color and the area covered by these scales is a bit larger than normal. King is a rather shy pokemon, preferring to stick right beside Xalen and appears to get very nervous if he isn't. He has a black bandana tied around his neck.

Pokemon 3: Chuckles
Species: Murkrow
Gender: Male
Description: The spiky collar of feathers around his neck are a bit taller than the average Murkrow. Chuckles enjoys observing others, staring at then and waiting to see something interesting. If he finds something to be humorous, he will make a noise similar to laughing. Which is why he was named Chuckles.

Pokemon 4: Red
Species: Houndour
Gender: Male
Description: Red has a very light orange fur on his muzzle and underbelly. The skull-like structure on the top of his head has smaller eye holes than the typical Houndour. Red is one of Xalen's newest pokemon and thus the Houndour is still a bit standoffish and tends to isolate himself from the other pokemon and Xalen.

Species: Budew
Gender: Female
Description: Is a deeper green color than the average Budew. Despite being Xalen's newest pokemon, Chi is very fond of her trainer as well as the other pokemon he has. She very much likes to be babied and spoiled.
