Nightcrystal never really fit in with her birth clan. For one she was a pearlcatcher in a heavily mirror dominated clan. Secondly she was more interested in researching and scavenging for scrolls and ancient artifacts rather than taking part in contests of physical strength. There she was constantly bullied. After some time she got feed up with all the mistreatment. So, on a dark moonless night, she fled toward the Southern Icefield, determined to put as much distance between herself and her tride as possible. After a full night of flying, Nightcrystal was dropping with exhaustion. She flew into a nearby cave on the southern most edge of the Frigid Floes region. As she passed through the entrance, she froze. Many pairs of eyes gleamed in the darkness of the cave. Three dragons emerged from the shadows, two tundras and a mirror, whom walked slightly in front of the two tundras. Nightcrystal fought the urge to flee at the sight of the mirror. She quickly collected herself and faced the mirror. |

The dragons halted their approach and the mirror introduced herself as Lord Iceflame. Iceflame asked Nightcrystal why she was here. Nightcrystal explained that she had entered the cave seeking shealter, unaware the cave was already occupied. Iceflame told her that this cave was home to her clan and that Nightcrystal couldn't stay. The younger tundra asked Iceflame if they could allow Nightcrystal to stay one night. The mirror thought it over and finally gave in to her daughter's request. Nightcrystal thanked them and the tundra led her over to a resting place. She collapsed as soon as her head touched the moss. It was the best sleep she'd ever had, for she usually had to be vigilant against her old tormentors. When she woke up she realised that this clan already felt like more of a home than her old tribe. She and the tundra, whose name she now knew was Ker, went out to gather a bit of food for the clan. Nightcrystal proposed her idea of joining the clan to Ker. Ker thought it was a great idea. When they returned to the cave, Nightcrystal asked Iceflame if she could stay with the clan for a while and Iceflame said she could. |
