"This is not something I wanted and I certainly didn't ask for it, so it will be returned even if I have to take it back to the Plaguebringer herself!"

Personality Type: Driven, Impulsive, Proud
Nickname: Ethel
Occupation: Medical Researcher
Familiar: LuLu
Mate: Diamon

Ethereal is an unusual and tragic dragon. She suffers from a somewhat rare condition known as Opallitis; a disease that causes the crystallization of cells over time. Beautiful but harmful, this disease has eaten away at bits of Ethereal's cells leaving shimmering crystals in its wake. Ethereal's considerable healing ability has slowed it down, but the disease has finally made its way into her mind. As a result she is plagued by fits of dementia. In these moments she is often hostile and violent, on rare occasions she seem's almost tranquil, staring off into space for hours on end. She sometimes whispers odd, off-putting predictions that have an alarming accuracy rate.

Feeling unfit to reside in her homeland because of her illness Ethereal has searched desperately for a cure before the crystals consume her. For years, she has roamed from clan to clan consulting every healer she could find and learning valuable skills along the way but never finding the cure she longed for. Finally, depressed and beaten, Ethereal arrived at the Draumer Den and consulted with its resident healer Callisto, but she too could do nothing to cure Ethereal's disease. Her last hope crushed, Ethereal had no remaining will to move forward and decided to spend the last of her days in the Draumer Den.

Frustrated at her seemingly hopeless situation Ethereal soon became bitter and most of the den's residents were quick to avoid her. The only exception to this rule was Diamon, the Den's messenger. Diamon's resilient kind nature endured even the harshest of Ethereal's biting insults, and Ethereal found she could no longer hate him. In a cruel twist of fate it was shortly after they pronounced their love that Ethereal began to suffer the bouts of delirium that now plague her and the search for a cure has been renewed.
