Biography
Seikuna
The Shaman

Although some might not think of fire as a healing element, seeing only its destructive power, Seikuna proves them wrong. Fire has the power to cleanse, to cauterize, and to burn away infection. He can induce a fever in a patient that brings their temperature up enough to kill whatever disease ails them, carefully monitored to keep them safe. When he has to stitch a wound or make an incision, he can make sure that his instruments are perfectly sterile. When a patient comes to him with an infection that might have required amputation, he can work miracles to burn it out, removing the rot and leaving behind something that can heal into a healthy limb again. And when he's on the battlefield, doing quick triage and working with limited equipment, his ability to sear wounds shut quickly has kept many from bleeding out. A number of the clan's warriors owe him their lives, and take part in a special ceremony at their triumph. Seikuna collects ash from the Great Furnace, and rubs it into the open wounds of the victors which, when healed, leaves black scars as a testament to their faith and power. In addition to healing their bodies, Seikuna is responsible for the less tangible aspects of their health. Too much use of magic, for instance, can cause a drain on a dragon's soul, manifesting in exhaustion and depression. Seikuna will craft them an amulet, charged with his own magic, to slowly replenish them, and heal the rift in their spirit. When dragons emotionally troubled, Seikuna weaves magic to bring them peace and healing. The Tundra considers his healing abilities a gift directly from the Flamecaller, both a blessing and a calling, that will desert him if he misuses them. He scorns other healers who take oaths to heal all dragons who they find injured. If the deities had meant every dragon who fell ill to be healed, then the gift would not be rare. He believes that the lair's Matriarch serves the Flamecaller with a pure devotion, and at her bidding he heals the dragons of the clan. |
